Vanessa Glasson is an active duty Army Specialist based at Fort Campbell and is participating in our AgVets internship program. She is interning with Coal Creek Orchard in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.

1) Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from originally and how long have you been at Fort Campbell?

My name is Vanessa Glasson, Army Specialist (E-4). I am originally from Sacramento, CA and have been stationed at Fort Campbell since November 2018.

2) What is your current rank and position?

I am an Army Specialist (E-4) and my position in the military is Intelligence Analyst (35F).

3) What are your plans for after you exit the service?

I plan on going to school full-time using my GI Bill at Everglades University and major in alternative medicine. My goal is to have a naturopathic clinic with self-sustained greenhouses for medicinal herbs.

4) What has been your favorite part your internship with Kentucky AgVets so far?

My favorite part of the internship is being able to work hands on. Every day is a learning experience whether it is in the greenhouse, orchard, or shop.

5) Why are you interested in agriculture?

I am interested in agriculture because I want to give back to my community by growing and harvesting fresh produce, herbs, and offering volunteer hours.

Thanks to Coal Creek Orchard for hosting this internship!
