March 19th: Kentucky AgVets Workshop and Networking Event

Join us for a FREE QPR training, lunch and high tunnel workshop!

When: March 19th, 10am-4pm

Where: Robinson Center for Appalachian Resource Sustainability (RCARS)

Address: 130 Robinson Road Jackson, KY 41339

Cost: FREE!

Please join the AgVets team for QPR training in the morning, followed by a catered lunch, and a high tunnel workshop in the afternoon.

QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer and is used to help prevent suicide. With the high risk for both farmers and veterans to develop thoughts of suicide, we are offering this training for our AgVets community. The training will bring awareness and develop tools to help manage these thoughts. All veterans and their spouses are invited to attend. Dale Dobson with the Kentucky Department of Agriculture will be facilitating the discussion.

After lunch, the Kentucky Horticulture Council, along with UK Horticulture Extension Specialist Shawn Wright and Bob McNeil, with ML Irrigation, will talk through the basics of high tunnel production and how to set up a small-scale irrigation system.

Registration is free but required to ensure we have enough supplies and food for those in attendance. Register HERE.
