Q&A with Maddie Grider: Getting To Know The Client Coordinator
Q: What is your role at KCARD?
Generally, I serve as the initial contact for people who are interested in working with KCARD. During that first conversation, I try to get as much information as I can about where the client is, where they are wanting to go, and how KCARD can help them. After I have an idea of their goals, I help connect them with a member of the business development team. Internally, I also assist with maintaining client records and creating online communications.
Q: What is your favorite activity so far?
I really enjoy speaking with new clients and helping to figure out how we can help them. Being from a farming background, I understand how dynamic the agriculture industry is and how important it is to have a resource like KCARD that can help with questions about business planning, funding opportunities, and so much more. I love having the opportunity to help people with their agricultural businesses because I’m very passionate about Kentucky agriculture.
Q: What advice would you give to someone interested in working with KCARD?
It’s helpful to us if new clients have clear ideas about what kind of help they’re looking for, but they shouldn’t feel like they need to have all the answers immediately. Business planning is a tough process that takes time, and we’re here to help as much as we can!
Q: What is your favorite local product?
I lived and went to college in Bowling Green, so I’m definitely a fan of ice cream from Chaney’s Dairy Barn. Banana is my favorite flavor! I always like to find new local products though, so I visit my local Bounty of the Barrens farmer’s market often to see what else is out there.
