Job Opening: Client Coordinator/ Project Assistant
The Kentucky Center for Agriculture and Rural Development is hiring an individual to assist the KCARD team in its work with agricultural and rural-based businesses seeking KCARD services. This position will support KCARD’s work with these businesses and provide the individual with an opportunity to learn business development and advance to other positions.
KCARD is a non-profit organization that works with farmers, farmers markets, agritourism operations, value- added operations, cooperatives, meat processing facilities, grain handling operations, horticultural businesses, and many other agricultural-related businesses operating in Kentucky.
This is a full-time position, and KCARD employees have flexible scheduling options available.
Duties:
Assist with projects related to agricultural and food-related business needs;
Work collaboratively with KCARD team to deliver assistance and be responsive;
Provide support to businesses and organizations by assessing needs and determining appropriate course of action, in consultation with KCARD team;
Respond to new inquiries for KCARD assistance;
Conduct research on agricultural and food-related business topics, and assist with conducting market research;
Draft portions of documents with the KCARD team; and
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and excellent interpersonal skills;
Attention to detail;
Strong work ethic with a self-motivated nature;
Knowledge of Kentucky agriculture and the agricultural and food sectors;
Understanding of economics, marketing, and business structures;
Experience with computers and common software, including Microsoft Excel; and
Valid driver’s license with access to private vehicle.
Location: Flexible within state of Kentucky, with some in-state travel expected.
