Kentucky Black Farmer Fund

Eligible Entities:

Those eligible to apply must satisfy all of the following:

1. Black-operated family farms in Kentucky with fewer than ten employees;

2. Farms who are actively part of the local food system, including produce, livestock, edible herbs, honey, and maple syrup;

3. Currently farming; and,

4. Selling products through local markets (i.e. farmers market, roadside market, Community Supported Agriculture, farm share, local restaurants, etc.)

Funding Amount:

Up to $750

Overview:

This fund will provide one-time grants of up to $750 to Black-operated family-scale farmers in Kentucky to assist them in meeting the new demands brought about by COVID-19. Recipients are encouraged to partner with a local food pantry, backpack program, or other food security program to which they can provide their seconds and excess products.
