Overview:

Grants of up to $2,500 are available for projects to help you meet a specific standard and become Certified Animal Welfare Approved, Certified Humane, or GAP Animal Welfare Certified.

Grants of up to $2,500 are available for projects to help farms transition to pasture-based systems, expand animals’ access to well-managed pasture, and improve the quality of pasture.

If you already have a recognized animal welfare certification: Grants of up to $2,500 are available for individual farmers, and up to $5,000 for joint applications, for projects that would build your farm's capacity, financial viability and/or the market for your animal welfare-certified products.
