This fall, KCARD is hosting another round of our funding focused Growing Your Farm and Food Business workshop series. We kicked off this series with the first workshop in Grand Rivers on October 23rd. We had a great time! Attendees especially valued the one-on-one time with grant program representatives.
The next two workshops will take place in Springfield on November 13th and Jackson on November 19th.
The workshops include an overview of the business planning process as it relates to grant and loan applications and a session on the basics of grants, including where to find them and general tips for applying. After a provided networking lunch, the afternoon will consist of a speed networking session. New to the workshop series, this session will allow producers to meet face-to-face with grant program representatives so you can understand the program and how it may relate to your specific farming operation. You may even be able to start a grant application or business plan before you leave for the day!
"We greatly appreciate the participation of the grant program representatives in the workshops. Having the opportunity to talk with program representatives in person is very valuable to the farmers who attend,” says Brent Lackey, KCARD Executive Director.
Registration for the workshops is $20. Location details and links to register for each workshop may be found below.
